Devi nahi

Recently there have been numerous crimes against women... from strangers to families to in-laws... women have been at the receiving end... just a coupla lines for them

Mai mai hoon tumhara saya nahi
Mai chal sakti hoon tumhare peeche peeche
Parantu mai koi anugaami nahi
Hoon mai sooraj ki kiran
Parantu sheetal hai mera mann
Hoon kathor mai shilaon jaisi
Paruntu komal hai mera antkaran
Seench sakti hoon tumhare jeevan ka thal
Parantu chahiye mujhe bhi anurag
Aurat hoon devi nahi
Aradhana ke naam pe na karo tiraskar
Hoon main bhi insaan
Insaano ka darja do mujhe
Hai meri bhi pehchaan
Bas us pehchaan ki pehchaan do mujhe
Aurat hoon devi nahi
Aradhana ke naam pe na karo tiraskar

Very True.

It's irony to see how women are getting treated & blamed for when they are the victim.

The Irony is that - Indians have 10,000 devis but when it comes to women in the family, they are ill-treated and over powered. Not only by men but other women in the family. Then this victim of abuse when comes in power repeats the same thing towards other women. This cycle goes on.

Why have Santoshi maa, Saraswati maa, Amba maa etc... why this farce. Treat the woman u have in your life with respect, and you will reap the benefits...

Beautifully weaned words. We have called her 'Devi' and 'Devi Tulya' and yet some people amongst us have treated her in ways even no animal would be tortured.
Beautiful post.

Loved the posts on this blog.

I had a little chance to watch/listen to your creations while in school. This blog has given me that pleasure now. Thanks for sharing with us.

I am not as good a painter/writer as you are yet I try to understand the feelings expressed in your paintings. They are beautiful. Seem to say a lot about feelings of a women a lot better than words. Wish to see many more of them :)
